October at Babe’s: It’s PLAYOFFS, BABY
It’s SPOOOOOOKYYYYY season at Babe’s and we don’t (just) mean Halloween - the WNBA finals are anybody’s game at this point and we are on the edge of our seats for these playoff games! The #1-ranked Lynx fell to the #8 Liberty in the first round (which has never happened in WNBA playoff history!) and we’re sure to see more big moments. Whether you’re rooting for DeWanna to enter retirement with one more championship win (plus Angel and the Dream’s first ever chip!), for Stewie to put the Liberty on her back and make history as the first 8-seed to win it all, for tough-as-nails Coach Nakase to bring home the title for the Valkyries in their second ever season (Ballhalla would break the sound barrier), or for Coach Becky-“well the good news is we played like ass and only lost by 10 points”-Hammond to bring home more hardware for the Aces, this playoffs season has all of the storylines that make women’s sports so FUN. We’ll be watching all of the games and then some this month, keep reading for more info and make your plans to get to Babe’s!
🏀 WNBA Playoffs are currently in semifinals (which are best of 5), and the winner of Aces/Valkyries and Liberty/Dream will face off in the finals (best of 7) starting on Saturday the 17th. We’ll be open on Monday the 19th for game 2, and also on Monday the 26th if game 5 is needed. We’re also bringing back WNBA trivia on Wednesday the 21st, join us to get ready for Game 3 - which, speaking of, will be a really, really, fun party with some special treats brought to you by some soon-to-be-announced special guest sponsors.
🎨 We’re getting crafty this fall and we’re starting with CLAY on Sunday the 18th, come make some trinkets with us! And the following week we’ll be making some CREEPY CRAFTS to get into the Halloween spirit.
📚👻 Join our friends from Matchmaker books for a Boozy Book Fair on Saturday the 24th (after game 4!). The selection will be curated for Babe’s, and we’ll have a signup for the first meeting of the new Babe’s book club (we’re reading A Sharp Endless Need and you can buy a copy of the book at the fair!)
😈🎃 Your Halloween plans are here: Babe’s first drag show, Sapphics of the Night, Early bird tickets are limited, get yours while you can! Start planning your costume, there will be a contest at intermission.
We made some team-themed glitter so you can show off which team(s) you’re cheering for with some fun sparkles and lovedddd seeing the sea of sparkles for game 1 of semifinals - grab your glitter jar from a bartender while supplies last!
We can’t wait to see you at Babe’s!
