(what remains of) August at Babe’s
Can you believe it took us this long to recover from All-Star Weekend at the end of July? We’re getting this calendar out during this short window of time between ASW and the countdown to our one year anniversary party at the end of September! More information about that coming 🔜 but in the meantime, we hope to see you before August ends! Especially for these events:
Thursday, Aug 20th we’re hosting friends from the Chicago Tabletop Gaming Association for the She Rolls Initiative: A Beginner-Friendly D&D Night for Women, Femmes & Gender-Expansive Adventurers! The organizers are hoping to create a space for people who might be interested in tabletop games (think Dungeons and Dragons etc) but don’t know where to begin. There are apparently a lot of folks like that because the event is currently at capacity, but stay tuned for more collabs like this, we’d love to make it a regular thing! We’ll be open to the public still, so feel free to swing on by and see what it’s all about :)
Saturday, Aug 22nd we’ll be crafting some signs and apparel to wear to the Sky/Fever game on the 23rd. The last time the Fever were in town there was an influx of bad actors spreading some hateful sentiment, so our plan is to make sure anyone going to the Sky game has a sign or shirt that shows love for our trans community. We’ll have some heat-presses for shirts if you bring a blank, or paint a sign! If you’re not going to the game but you’re artistic and want to lend your skills, please come on down.
Saturday, Aug 29th we’re playing some pickup softball! Capacity is limited to make sure we’re doing this right for our first one, and you can grab your spot here - make sure you sign the waiver when you register! We’ll head to the bar after the game, first drink is on Babe’s!
Sunday, Aug 30th we’re hosting a screening of Copa 71, a documentary about the forgotten 1971 Women’s World Cup in Mexico City. We’ll have a light discussion after the screening and there will be snacks and drink treats from our sponsors. No registration required, we’re planning for 5PM and will confirm on our events page at the beginning of the week!
We’ll continue to have Tool School on Tuesdays and Out There Run/Walk Club on Wednesdays, come out for some community and fun!

we had some requests from Babe’s friends who don’t live in Chicago for our All-Star Weekend jerseys, so we’re doing a limited run of merch sales that we will ship from the bar! The only jerseys left are XL-4XL and we included some other items not on our online shop - check it out here! The store closes on August 31st and orders will ship out that week :)
