ALL-STAR WEEKEND @ BABE’S
We have been so excited to share our schedule for All-Star Weekend with you - it’s finally here! We’re partnering with Nike for the weekend to bring you giveaways, fun drink specials, and athlete appearances - everything you need in a home base for the weekend! We’re sharing our schedule on socials tomorrow but wanted you to get the first peek - see the image above for an overview of the (packed) weekend and keep reading for more information. TL;DR we’ll be open all weekend and have fun things planned for you!
THURSDAY we’re having a “Local’s Night” to make sure our Babe’s regulars get some QT before the madness fully descends on the city. We’ll be running our drink specials and will have our special new ASW merch out (including a new mesh top from PDL with the official ASW logo on it, we can’t wait for those to get here). Come out to see your pals and exchange notes on what events you’re hitting up!
FRIDAY we’ll be wining and dining before and during the skills challenge and 3-point contest. We’ll have plenty of the “Cheers to Women Winning” WNBA wine (buy it by the bottle to take it home and have a cute new dried flower display or cut it down and make a candle if you’re crafty like that) and other wine and drink specials to pair perfectly with our massive grazing board. We’ll be keeping the energy high with music during commercials, and La Crema has ASW merch for the first 50 people in the door. Skills contest starts at 7, free entry until 6PM, and $10 cover after that!
SATURDAY we’re getting the party started right at noon as we party like it’s 1996 to celebrate the legacy of the women who helped shape the future of women’s basketball. DJ Mo Mami will be spinning some tunes to set the vibe and we’ll have a huge merch station on the patio, complete with airbrush artists and old-school logos to customize your gear. We’ll hear briefly from Babe’s regular and WBB Hall-of-Famer/gold medalist Cathy Boswell at 3PM, and will be fundraising for youth basketball by raffling off some vintage merch from the Chicago Condors, our ABL team from the 90s. Join us from 12-4 to get in on the fun! And if you’re bopping around town for the day but want a place to watch the All-Star Game, we’ll obviously be showing that too :) Our watch party is sponsored by Maker’s Mark, so expect drink specials and fun giveaways (if you joined us for their Unrivaled and March Madness watch parties you know they have some fun wbb swag). Imagine watching the All-Star game in a women’s sports bar surrounded by other women’s basketball fans… the dream! And it could be your reality! Game is at 7:30, free entry until 6PM, and $10 cover after that!
SUNDAY we’re gonna be crawling across the finish line, and we’ll be fueled by Smash Jibaritos breakfast sandwiches. Our Humboldt Park neighbors are bringing the flat top and hangover cure and will be serving on the patio from 12-3PM. Come in your comfy clothes and let’s debrief the weekend with some hair of the dog … or Baberade! We’re closing at 10PM Sunday because we already know this is going to be a marathon.
